Our game studio, Saber Interactive, was founded in 2001 and has since grown into one of the world's leading video game developers, with offices across the globe.

Even if you are not deeply familiar with the gaming industry, you have likely heard of our projects: Space Marine 2, Jurassic Park: Survival, World War Z, SnowRunner, Quake Champions, and the Halo series.

We are looking for a Senior Cinematic Lighting Artist to be responsible for creating and configuring lighting systems for in-game cutscenes and dialogues.

Responsibilities

  • LookDev and artistic lighting direction: Creating atmosphere in cut-scenes and in-game cinematics in accordance with the art direction.
  • Lighting systems for dialogues: Creating, configuring, and maintaining universal and scalable light presets for dialogue scenes.
  • Final grading and post-processing: Configuring post-processes, color grading, and working with exposure to achieve cinematic quality while respecting global settings and the visual context of the level.
  • Optimization and pipeline: Integrating cut-scenes into the game, monitoring lighting performance without compromising visual quality, and collaborating with tech art to improve tooling.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Senior Lighting Artist / Cinematic Artist in the game industry, with a strong portfolio (showreel featuring game lighting examples is mandatory).
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine: Confident work with Sequencer/Timeline, global illumination systems (Lumen), understanding of lighting physics and PBR, and knowledge of character shading principles.
  • Systematization and artistic expression: Proven experience creating scalable presets for mass content (dialogues, quests), as well as the ability to deliver unique, emotionally powerful hero lighting for key narrative scenes.
  • Strong artistic foundation: Excellent understanding of composition, color theory, optical properties, exposure principles, and classic cinematic lighting setups.
  • Self-sufficiency: Ability to take a scene from blockout to final release, articulate visual decisions, and maintain the established visual style of the project.
