
Vehicle Technical Artist (Rigging, Skinning, Engine set-up)
Responsibilities
We are looking for an employee to work on setting up realistic models of in-game vehicles and various mechanisms.
Main responsibilities:
- Rigging and skinning realistic 3D models of vehicles and machinery.
- Configuring vehicle physics parameters in the game engine (mass distribution, constraints, collisions, etc.).
- Integrating and visually setting up vehicles in the game engine (LOD behavior, logic configuration for vehicle add-ons, etc.).
Requirements
What we expect:
- Experience working in Autodesk Maya (or the ability to transition to this software from another 3D editor).
- Strong knowledge of rigging/skinning tools and experience in this area, as well as basic modeling/texturing skills.
- Experience working with game engines.
- Understanding of rigid body simulations: physical properties, physical constraints, etc., and experience applying them.
- A technical mindset and interest in automotive.
General understanding of scripting principles in any language.
A plus would be:
- Experience with physics engines (Havok / PhysX / Bullet).
- Experience working with proprietary game engines.
- Experience writing scripts for automation/tool creation (Python).
